Carer Responsibilities & Specialist Teams

Tasks that can be provided by the carer/ carer support worker include:

  • Personal care, which includes washing, bathing, showering, assistance with dressing/ undressing, toileting, etc.
  • Assistance with medication.
  • Assistance with mobility.
  • Shopping.
  • Preparing and cooking meals and snacks.
  • Laundry.
  • Health & hygiene cleaning.
  • Budgetary management.
  • Community access.
  • Leisure pursuits.
  • Emotional support.
  • Any other tasks that are appropriate and have been identified during the pre-care assessment.

A free pre-care assessment will be carried out by a qualified assessor to ensure that the correct level of care or support will be provided. This can involve family members or friends.

The family carer and service user's needs and wishes are paramount when care plans are agreed, ensuring that their care meets all their requirements. In short we will do what you want us to do.

Carers/ Carer Support Workers will:

  • Be fully trained in Moving & Handling, First Aid, Food Hygiene and Protection of Vulnerable Adults.
  • Have completed a community induction (meeting service users) with a Senior Carer, Co-ordinator or Manager.
  • Have an enhanced CRB check (Criminal Records Bureau check)
  • Provide a professional and confidential service.
