Care Options Available

You may wish to have a carer come to your home for a short while to assist you (Daily Care) or to stay at your home for a week or more to enable your needs to be met as they arise (Live-in Care). These types of care can be provided on an ongoing basis.

We also provide short term care (Daily and Live-in Care) which enables family members to have a break. It can also be valuable for those who are waiting for admission to or discharge from hospital. Live-in Care can also benefit those who require care, assistance or companionship whilst on holiday.

Daily Care
Daily care is short visits to meet the service user's care requirements (minimum duration of 15 minutes for Isle of Wight and 30 minutes for Cambridge & Essex). The number and length of visits is based upon your wishes.

An all day or all night sitting service can also be provided.

Live-in Care
Live-in Care is continuous care provided within the service user's own home and is tailored to meet the individual's requirements. The care and support is provided by a carer who lives in with the service user.

The minimum duration of care is one week.

Community Support
Community Support is support provided to enable people with learning disabilities to live independently with choice and respect. The length of visit can vary from 30 minutes to continuous support (inclusive of sleep ins).

Island Carers' Support Service
This is a support service for family carers who care for a loved one. We can support the cared for person which allows the family carer to have a well deserved break. Support can be provided either within the home environment or within the local community.

The minimum duration of a call is 2 hours. You may choose a block of 2 hours every week, 4 hours every fortnight or 8 hours once a month. You may also choose to have hours of support in addition to the minimum.

Night Owls
Night owls are available between 11pm to 7am. Night owls provide short visits to meet the service user's care requirements during the night and are able to respond to care related emergencies. The minimum duration of call is 30 minutes (which consists of a 15 minute call by two carers).

Care & Support Response Service
Our Care & Support Response Service is an emergency service that is available between 7am to 11pm in Essex and between 6.30am to 10.30pm in the Isle of Wight.

This service is suitable for people who require a professional response to a care related emergency. It is therefore suitable for people who:

  • have regular falls (but are able to determine if they have sustained an injury)
  • have occasional incontinence
  • require a visit which is initiated if they use their call alarm

Nursing Service
This is a service provided by qualified nurses to meet your nursing care needs.

Palliative Care Service
Enabling people with terminal illness to choose to remain in their own home by providing carers who are fully trained in the needs of palliative care and can offer night sits, day sits and short visits.

Tele-care
We offer tele-care aids which can promote the service users independence and safety whilst providing reassurance to their family.

Tele-care aids can include those that highlight:
  • Falls
  • A person leaving or entering the home
  • Prompting medication or indicating if it has not being taken
  • We can provide a response service to any alerts received from the tele-care aids

    Costs

Care can be funded by direct payments. We will be happy to discuss this with you at the time of your pre-care assessment.

If you are in receipt of carer break vouchers you are able to redeem these with us.

Costs are available upon request from our head office (tel 01371 811133).
